Vessels Of Honour

Every body is a vessel.
2 Timothy 2:20 – 21
20-  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

You take personal responsibility to convert yourself and sustain yourself as a vessel of Honour.

Life is about responsibilities

21 - If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Our value depends on our purging.

Things to Purge yourself from.
  1. Your words
Matthew 12:36 - But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Matthew 5:37- But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers

Colossians 3:8 - But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

  2. Your Associations
1Corithians 15:33 - Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Proverbs 13:20 - He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
  3. Lust
2 Timothy 2: 22 - Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

1Corithians 6:18 - Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

1Corithians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Where do you start?
  1. By Examining Yourself
2 Corinthian 13:5 - Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
1 Corinthian 11:28 - But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.(talking about communion. Also worship, prayer etc)

God can help you examine yourself
Psalms 26:2 - Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

  2. Pruning
    John 15:1-2
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Matthew 18:9 - And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
