Training For Effective Evangelism


We are all called to be witness of the Gospel of Christ. This is what is commonly called The Great Commission - Matthew 28:19 – 20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Acts 1:8 - But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Requirement to be an Effective Evangelist
1          Be Sure of your Salvation
2.         Study your Bible
3.         Learn to Pray 
4.         Publicly Declare your Faith (Baptism)
5.         Be Faithful to a Church (Membership)
6.         Allow Jesus to Control your Life (Sanctification)

Spiritual Preparation:
You can not be effective if you are not spiritually prepare.
1.      Pray and Worship God in preparation for outreach
2.      Get the required resources

Styles of Evangelism
1.      Confrontational Style – Confronting people on their sins (not very advisable)
2.      Intellectual Style – Present the gospel to people by arguing intelligently
3.      Testimonial Style – Give personal testimonies of life before and after salvation
4.      Invitational Style – Come and see – John 1:46, Psalms 66:5
5.      Serving Style – Offer service to attract people to church

What you do after evangelism
1.      Follow up – Follow up the people you have evangelized.
2.      Nature The new converts to grow in faith to full disciple hood
